Fine week on way for most

Most of the country looks to be in for a few days of of fine weather as a ridge settles over the country for much of this week. MetService said while this winter would be remembered as a wet one, the coming week was set to buck that trend. Weatherwatch.co.nz said high pressure was already moving into the South Island and would continue to spread into the North Island tomorrow. Frosts were likely through inland areas of the South Island tomorrow morning, while fog patches were possible for some in the North Island around Wednesday and Thursday. By Friday a north to northeast flow is expected to develop, and the weekend sees high pressure dropping and a front in the Tasman Sea trying to move in.
