Footage on White Island taken from the air on December 11, 2019 - two days after the deadly eruption. Fine weather is forecast for Bay of Plenty on Friday, when an operation is planned to recover bodies that have been on Whakaari/White Island since Monday's eruption. After low morning cloud, Christchurch is forecast to have a fine day with a 27C high. There's a chance of heavy rain in Buller, Nelson and parts of Marlborough at the start of next week. Heavy rain is possible in some central North Island areas on Tuesday, and severe gales are possible in the top half of he North Island at the start of next week.
