According to the NGO, 1.36 lakh people died and 4.68 lakh were injured in all types of road accidents in 2011. Citing statistics from the Union transport and highways ministry, it said that in 2015 alone, there were 4,124 accidents caused by stationary trucks, injuring 12,800 people.
