Shaken by its dreadful election campaign last February, which featured an abject performance from Michael Noonan, its most senior minister, Fine Gael is rudderless. Blowing with the wind, it is drifting onto the ground occupied by Fianna Fail and parties of the left. Voters who traditionally supported this party of the centre-right have been abandoned by its shift in direction.
