The extent to which Fine Gael has lost its identity and forgotten its raison d’être is becoming more apparent with each passing day. Shaken by its dreadful election campaign last February, which featured an abject performance from Michael Noonan, its most senior minister, Fine Gael is rudderless. Blowing with the wind, it is drifting onto the ground occupied by Fianna Fail and parties of the left.
