Ackley estimates she ran 2,150 miles in 2016—a few hundred miles shy of the distance from New York City to Los Angeles. "The thing I'm most proud of is winning the 3,200 at state and getting the record, knowing that nobody else in North Dakota has run that time. Ackley has goals of again breaking the 3,200 state meet record and setting a PR in the 1,600 at state. For all she's accomplished—the state record, the state titles, gaining a scholarship to compete in track and cross country at Iowa State—Ackley continues to be motivated to do more.
