The workers questioned the expense of hiring Alec Baldwin for ads. Cutouts of actor Alec Baldwin were dragged into the streets of Auckland on Tuesday as staff of Latitude Finance protested against a pay offer from their employer. Sixty call centre workers protested in the streets about a breakdown in pay negotiations and drew attention to what they said was the 30 Rock star's pay - $1 million for five hours filming the ad. First Union said they felt a 3 per cent pay increase for call centre staff was insufficient. One of the protesters' signs read: "If Alec Baldwin got $1 million for five hours' work, you can afford more."
