Minister of Finance Amr El-Garhy approved EGP 4.6bn in urgent allocations for May to the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC), Egyptian National Railways, the General Authority for Health Insurance, and the National Media Authority. The allocations also included EGP 220m for the National Media Authority to meet its mandatory obligations towards workers in May. In addition, EGP 60.6m was allocated to the General Authority for Health Insurance in May to support female breadwinners, students, and children. Moreover, the allocations included EGP 63.1m to the Egyptian National Railways, to support students’ April subscriptions. Meanwhile, EGP 4.5m was allocated to support school, university, and higher institute students’ metro subscriptions for April.
