The government had earlier waived late fee for delayed filing of the maiden returns for the month of July under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime. The Union Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley on Tuesday announced a major relief to the taxpayers as he said that the late fee on filing of the GST returns for the month of August and September would be waived off. He further said that the late fee that has been already paid by the taxpayer will be credited back to his/her ledger. To facilitate taxpayers, late fee on filing of GSTR-3B for Aug&Sept has been waived. Late fee paid will be credited back to taxpayer ledger.
