LAS VEGAS (AP) " A Long Island poker veteran has emerged as the chip leader at the final table of nine players in the marquee Main Event at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. The Main Event caps a 2016 World Series of Poker tournament that began May 31 at the Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino. The 47th annual World Series of Poker championship started play July 9 with 6,737 players from 79 countries. Josephy, 51, finished in the top 400 players in the World Series of Poker championship in 2008, and in the top 1,000 last year. The top prize will be $8 million and a World Series of Poker championship bracelet.
