Robert Mitchell Jennings was given a lethal injection 30 years after he was sentenced to death for killing policeman Elston Howard. Jennings, who had spent three decades on Death Row , died in Texas, US, last week after his final appeal for a stay failed. And as he was executed, a crowd of uniformed police officers revved their bike engines outside in final roars of justice. Jennings shot Elston twice, then a third time after the officer collapsed on the floor. Harvell was arrested at his mother's house and was later given a 55-year sentence for his role in the crime.
