A total of 4,792 candidates for posts of surgeons became successful in the exam, the PSC said in a statement on Tuesday. Of those successful candidates, as many as 4,542 for the post of assistant surgeon and 250 for the post of assistant dental surgeon were qualified to enter the BCS. A total of 13,219 candidates for the post of assistant surgeon and 531 for the post of assistant dental surgeon were cleared for the viva-voce that started from October 10 last. The PSC published a notice on Apr 8, 2017 seeking applications from doctors for the vacant posts. According to the revised regulation, there were 200 marks in MCQs and 100 marks in the viva voce.
