The bus owner will have to pay most of the compensation – Tk 43.09 million, the bus driver Tk 3 million and the insurance company, Reliance, Tk 80,000. In February, a Manikganj court ordered life imprisonment for the man, who was driving the bus. The three others killed in the crash were the car's driver Mustafiz, Tareque's production manager Wasim and staffer Jamal. Tareque's wife Catherine Masud, painter Dhali Al-Mamun and his wife Dilara Begum Jolly, and Tareque's production assistant Saidul Islam survived the crash. In 2013, families of Tareque and Mishuk moved the Manikganj court with two separate cases claiming compensations under the Motor Vehicle Ordinance.
