Share TweetBy Roy MabasaAs thousands of anti-government protesters took the streets of Lebanon for the third straight day, the Philippine government is calling on all Filipinos to take the “necessary precaution” and stay away from areas where the rallies are taking place. In a statement on Sunday, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) echoed the advisory issued by the Philippine Embassy in Beirut for Filipinos in Lebanon to take the necessary precautions in view of the ongoing protests across the country. “Filipinos are urged to stay away from areas where protests are taking place, and to remain indoors as much as possible,” it said. There are an estimated 30,000 Filipinos who are either working or living in Lebanon, according to a recent post of the Philippine Embassy in Beirut.
