Filipino, Chinese youths embrace differencesBy LIEZELLE ROYhome/Campus Press/Filipino, Chinese youths embrace differencesFILIPINO and Chinese students embraced cultural diversity and started a friendship that they intend to keep through unforgettable memories they shared recently during a two-week fellowship from Sept.15 to 28, 2019. The youth delegates were joined by journalists, bloggers and provincial officials of Fujian and Davao. Although Chinese influence in the Philippines remains strong when it comes to culture, tradition and superstitious beliefs, Chinese and Filipino are still different in many aspects. But throughout the two-week fellowship, the youth delegates respected their differences and tried to establish connections, drawing them closer every day as they shared jokes and exchanged smiles and laughter. As one of the youth delegates, the program helped me understand the Chinese way of living and learn their culture deeper than before.
