Fiji-chaired climate talks to begin Monday

Diplomats, negotiators, activists, academics, civil society and industry representatives and political leaders from 196 countries are making their way to Bonn, Germany, for two weeks of climate talks, beginning Monday. It will be the twenty-third round of the UN-sponsored climate talks being chaired by Fiji, the first small island nation to do so. The focus for now is on how the US conducts itself in the negotiations. In Marrakech, countries agreed to finalise the rule book for the Paris Agreement by December 2018. The Fiji COP is where the dialogue needs to start taking shape.
