Fight settled amicably, nothing to do with racial sentiment, says police

SUNGAI PETANI: Police have dismissed claims that the heated argument which escalated into a fight between an Indian man and a group of Malay teenagers was triggered by racial sentiment as viraled on social media. However, he added, the group accidently fired the shots towards an Indian family's house nearby and the bullets hit the roof. "Upset over the incident, a man came out of the house and scolded the group before slapping one of them and kicking his motorcycle. "Following the report, the man, the teenagers, their families and representatives of the residential area were called to the Kuala Muda district police headquarters. Considering no serious injuries or damage have been inflicted, they agreed not to prolong the matter and to resolve it amicably," he said in a press statement here.
