Health officials conduct house-to-house campaign to prevent choleraThe department of public health is conducting a house-to-house campaign to prevent cholera. Chief Officer of Public Health Samuel King’ori said the campaign, led by public health officers, community health workers and local administrators, began last week at Kaptembwo Slum in Nakuru town. Two cases of cholera were confirmed in Nairobi last week. In February 4, the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) reported that 572 cases of cholera had been reported in Nairobi, Narok and Kajiado since January. Public health officers have also been deployed to all sub-counties to monitor the hygiene of all food joints including those located along highways.
