Fight Against Wuhan Coronavirus Complicated By Return Of Lunar New Year Travelers From Outside China


A flight from Singapore arrived in China carrying passengers possibly infected with the virus. Faced with thorny questions that risk discrimination, governments may find it easier to encourage airlines to reduce flights to mainland China. The largest efforts to contain the virus have concerned travel within mainland China, but the end of the Lunar New Year will see passengers return from abroad. Like other airlines, Scoot allowed Wuhan passengers to re-book to another destination in greater China. An unspecified number of the 110 passengers arrived in Singapore directly from Wuhan as part of the Lunar New Year travelling period.
