Charlie Flanagan welcomed the refugees, who arrived from a camp in Lebanon BRIAN LAWLESS/PAFifty Syrian refugees arrived in Ireland yesterday from a refugee camp in Lebanon. The families have been resettled under the Irish refugee protection programme (IRPP). They will initially reside in the Mosney accommodation centre in Co Meath, where they will receive support before being settled into communities across the country. The programme was established by the government in September 2015 as a part of the country’s response to the global humanitarian migration crisis. It initially made a commitment that Ireland would welcome 4,000 people over four years.
