A west Quebec man convicted of sexually abusing two of his daughters when they were young and fathering three children with one of them was sentenced to 15 years in prison Friday in a Gatineau courthouse. Lucie Lesage, 53, and her sister Nathalie Lesage, 49, each requested a routine publication ban be lifted so their identities wouldn’t be a secret. She urged anyone who is a victim of sexual assault, particularly children, to come forward. The Crown and defence were worlds apart in their request for an appropriate sentence for Lesage. Prosecutors had asked for a sentence between 20 and 22 years in prison, while defence lawyer Antonio Cabral argued a prison term in the range of five to seven years was more appropriate.
