more-inFifteen more immersion ponds will be kept ready for the concluding day of the upcoming Ganesh Chathurthi festivities in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) area, Mayor Bonthu Ram Mohan said on Monday. These will be part of the 20 ponds being dug in addition to the 10 ponds constructed last year, he said. Of the 20 ponds, 15 will be ready for this year’s immersion, he added. Clay idolsThe Commissioner visited various ponds and production centres of clay idols of Ganesh on Monday, and urged people to worship clay idols. An awareness workshop focusing on protecting the environment by installing clay idols will be conducted on August 17 for school and college students on the clay idols.
