It was founded in 1868 and is the final resting place of some of the most important figures in Cuban history. Residents along the winding street spent Saturday making signs with revolutionary phrases like "I am Fidel," and hanging Cuban flags from their doorways. When Castro's funeral caravan passes by, he said he planned to render one final salute.
