People who make "false" or inaccurate insurance claims in a bid to defraud the system should have their case immediately sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions for potential criminal action, Fianna Fáil has warned. Speaking to reporters in Leinster House, Fianna Fáil business spokesperson Billy Kelleher said under existing rules hundreds of millions of euro worth of fraudulent insurance claims are being uncovered across the country every year. Mr Kelleher said we cannot have a society whereby the cheat is the one who wins. "We can't have a society where the cheat is the one who wins, lawful business where put to refers," Mr Kelleher said.
