Fire crews will be working well into the night tackling the aftermath of a "ferocious" blaze at a central Auckland school today. While the fire at Ponsonby Intermediate School is now contained, crews are likely to spend most of the night on-site damping down hotspots, Fire and Emergency said. About fifteen crews were sent to battle the central Auckland intermediate school fire. Aucklanders from the North Shore and western suburbs could see smoke billowing across the city after the fire broke out at the Ponsonby school. A fire has broken out at Ponsonby Intermediate in central Auckland.
