The Kaa Sober programme which means remaining sober is one of the flagship programmes of Kiambu County Governor Ferdinard Waititu Babayao. He launched the initiative in a bid to fight alcoholism and illicit brews in the county and to maintain a healthy and engaged citizenry. The Kaa Sober initiative was launched a year ago after the Governor noted with keen concern the vices attributed to alcoholism. In Gatundu North Sub-county for example, statics reported that by the time the programme was launched, there were over 100 deaths related to the illicit brews.
