The much-maligned fence that's been blocking an unassumed alleyway in Dundas is gone. "I took my dog and trotted over to the public alley," said David Jones, one of more than 200 residents who voiced opposition to the fence. The city confirmed that someone offered to buy the property, but said it could do nothing about the fence since it was across an unassumed alley. Sam Merulla, Ward 4 councillor, said this week that he's had unassumed alley issues in his ward. Typically, one resident can build a fence and buy the property if the other residents abutting the alley agree to do it too.
