Fear the Walking Dead's Ratings Have Collapsed After Killing Off Its Lead

There are three more episodes left in season 4 of Fear the Walking Dead, a key component of what AMC is calling ‘The Walking Dead Universe’ which is supposed to span multiple shows over the course of the next decade. As such, there were a number of episodes in season 4 early on that were doing better than the last stretch of season 3 episodes. While there have been a couple good episodes (the John Dorie episode, the Alicia/Charlie episode), the direction of season 4 has been uneven, at best. Morgan joining the cast has added less than the show has lost by killing off Madison and Nick, and season 4 overall has been lacking, with the ratings reflecting that. Killing Madison, like killing Glenn or killing Carl in TWD, seems to be the last straw for many fans, and it’s unclear if ratings can or will recover from here.
