Photo: BSSRANGPUR, Feb 27, 2026 (BSS) – The beautiful flowering of litchi trees in a favorable climate has encouraged farmers and raised hopes of a bumper harvest of the juicy fruit in the Rangpur agricultural region this season. “The extraordinary flowering of litchi trees has raised hopes for a bountiful production of seasonal fruits for farmers this season,” said Additional Director of the DAE’s Rangpur region Krishibid Md Shirajul Islam. Litchi farmers Mokbul Hossain, Arman Ali, Mohibur Rahman, Mominul Haque, Amenur Rahman and Mukul; Hossain of different villages in Rangpur Sadar upazila expressed satisfaction over excellent flowering in their litchi trees. Deputy Director of the Burirhat Horticulture Center of the DAE in Rangpur Dr Md Abu Sayem said marvelous blooming in litchi trees is predicting a bumper production of the fruit this season. He also expressed satisfaction over excellent budding in litchi trees and predicted a bumper production of the seasonal fruit this season.
