ELMONT, NY—Mo Donegal had a tough run in the Kentucky Derby last month, pulling the rail and getting caught behind a wall of horses before making a late wide run to finish fifth. On Saturday, the colt took advantage of a smaller field with less traffic, passing the frontrunners to win the $1.5 million Belmont Stakes. Trained by Todd Pletcher and ridden by Irad Ortiz Jr., Mo Donegal emerged as the 5-2 favorite in the bet. A $2 winning bet would return $7.20.
