A loving father protected his daughter on board a plane that crashed on Michigan’s Beaver Island on Saturday, Nov. 13. Laney Perdue, 11, is the sole survivor of a plane catastrophe that took the lives of her father, Mike Perdue, and three other people. “Her last memory is her dad just grabbed her and held her really, really tight,” Laney’s mother, Christie Perdue said of her daughter’s, according to the Newsner. The father and daughter flew out of Charlevoix, Michigan, before attempting to land at Welke Airport on Beaver Island, about 20 miles distant. Mike was on the plane as he had planned to meet his friend Ryan Wojan on Beaver Island on the first day of firearm deer season.
