Father of dead infant ‘forgives TLYR leadership’

On November 9, a sick nine-month-old Hassan‘s parents got stuck in a massive traffic jam on Islamabad Expressway near Koral due to a sit-in staged by the Tehreek Labbaik Ya Rasool Allah (TLYR) protesters. Muhammad Bilal, the child’s father filed an application to the police against the TLYR leader Khadim Hussain Rizvi, saying that Khadim Rizvi and his fellows were responsible for his infant son’s death. Koral police subsequently registered an FIR against Rizvi and others for the ‘unintentional murder’ of the child. He added that he was withdrawing the case against the TLYR leader. A total of 27 FIRs were registered against the Faizabad protesters during the three-week-long sit-in that had brought the capital to a standstill.
