A young father in southwest Germany died while saving his son, who had fallen out of a boat during a weekend lake excursion. The group set off onto the lake in a paddle boat, but about 100 metres away from the shore, the man’s three-year-old son fell overboard. The father jumped into the water to save his child, while people on the shore called for help. But then the father went back under water, and the 55-year-old man could no longer find him, police report. The three-year-old son was brought to hospital, but doctors found him to be uninjured.
