The father, Fayez Ahmed Monu, 45, confessed to his crimes before the Senior Judicial Magistrate Court on Monday afternoon. Fayez had been in a dispute over land with his neighbour Motin and planned to kill his child to frame his rival, said Fayez in his statement. On May 5, around 12pm while the child, Rahima, was playing alone, he took the toddler to a deserted place and strangulated her to death, said Fayez explaining the horrific incident. After her death, he buried her body in a nearby bush and came back to his house pretending to search for Rahima.
