Father beat aggressive cancer suffers second heartbreak

A father who beat an aggressive cancer despite being told he had 'no chance of survival' is now dealing with a second heartbreak - as his premature son has a cyst on his brain. His wife Melissa, 29, gave birth to the couple's miracle son Lachy on December 12 at the Royal Hospital for Women in Sydney after IVF treatment. Mr Crossland said their 'lives changed forever' when their son was born - weighing just 1.3 kilograms and needing constant care. When Lachy was born, doctors feared he may have sepsis, an illness that can be life-threatening. Mr Crossland said Lachy has stopped breathing twice, once while he was in his wife's arms.
