Carrie Lam says the 12 suspects have breached mainland laws. The Chief Executive Carrie Lam Chen Yuet-ngor said today said the offenses committed by 12 Hong Kong residents is a matter under mainland jurisdiction. The 12 illegally entered the mainland and committed the crime of illegally crossing the border. Lam said that the 12 people were suspects in cases including assault on police, possession of explosives, and are wanted by the police. The mainland has decribed the suspects detained in Yantian in Shenzhen as 'separatists'.
