Tragedy struck in the Bulemia area of Budalang'i, Busia County, where at least four individuals lost their lives when the driver of a lorry lost control, causing the vehicle to veer off the road. The fatal incident occurred on Tuesday morning as the lorry was en route to Mundere Port Victoria road. The driver of the lorry sustained injuries during the accident and was promptly transported to the hospital for medical attention. The data further shows that pedestrians still account for the highest fatalities at 1,506 which was a decrease compared to 1,620 of last year. Atleast 709 passengers died in the period under review marking a decrease compared to 800 last year.
