Kenzo Takada, the Franco-Japanese fashion designer famous for his jungle-infused designs and free-spirited aesthetic that channelled his home continent of Asia, has died aged 81. His family said in a statement to French media that the fashion designer died from complications from Covid-19 in a hospital near Paris. Though Takada had been retired from his house since 1999 to pursue a career in art, he remains one of the most respected fixtures of high Paris fashion. The current designer, Felipe Oliveira Baptista, unveiled Kenzo’s spring-summer 2020 collection to fashion editors on Wednesday.
