Book noteLeaves of the Sleepless is a debut collection of 88 poems on motley themes by Canada-based Bangladeshi poet Farnaz Mahbub. She often juxtaposes seemingly unrelated images, a technique which often succeeds in having the intended effect on readers. In “Poet’s Den”, Farnaz expresses her love affair with poetry—the journey of discovering the truth through poetry. Her love for nature, too, propelled her to poetry. In spite of these limitations, Leaves of the Sleepless experiments with poetic expressions to stir the senses of readers with unique appeal.
