Farmers, women and youth focus in Congress’ Haryana manifesto


New Delhi: The Congress on Friday released its poll manifesto for Haryana, targeting farmers, women and youth as its key support base. It has also promised a series of financial assistance to women, unemployed youth and socially backward communities. Listing down key promises for women, Congress has said it would provide free transport for them in Haryana Roadways, 33% reservation in all governmental jobs and assistance of Rs3500 per month for pregnant women till the birth of the child and Rs5000 per month till the child turns 5. For the youth, the manifesto promises Rs7000 per month allowance for graduates and Rs10000 per month allowance for post graduates till the time they are employed. The manifesto was released by senior party leaders, including former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, state incharge Ghulam Nabi Azad, and state unit chief Kumari Selja.
