REPAIR ROADSThe levy, which was raised through a fee charged on sugar millers, was also used by factories to maintain roads within the sugar belt. “Currently, farmers incur heavy losses during transportation of cane from the farms to the factory due to the poor state of roads,” Mr Okoth added.
