IPOH: Seven farmers from Kampung Kuala Kuang in Chemor near here are appealing to the state government to intervene after they were issued eviction notices by the landowner. The farmers were given notice in March to vacate the land. One of the farmers, Seng Hee Choong, 54, who rears freshwater fish, said the farmers had been applying for a land title since 1990s from the state Land and Mines office. “Since then, we have continued to cultivate the land, but suddenly in 2016, the land was given to the company. I hope the issue will be resolved, and the authorities will arrange for a meeting with the parties concerned,” he said.
