KUALA LUMPUR: Just three days before the country’s oldest mall is set to sing Auld Lang Syne on Jan 1, Ampang Park Shopping Centre turned into a hive of activity. The Ampang Park Shopping Centre, which opened in 1973, will be demolished to make way for the construction of the Ampang Park Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station. Long history: Mohd Asnawi showing a wall at the mall where the best memories of Ampang Park Shopping Centre are put on display for visitors. Story coming to an end: Visitors and shoppers taking a last look at Ampang Park Shopping Mall. “Of course we want development, but certain things like Ampang Park should be preserved,” she said.
