The new market was inaugurated in Kousseri during a ceremony chaired by the First Assistant Senior Divisional Officer of the Logone and Chari Division. He said the opening the market is a demonstration of the level of security in the division. He also commended vigilante groups and urged them to keep up especially as they will also keep watch in the new market. The Coordinator of the UN system in Cameroon, Najat Rochdi said the market is intended to step the development of the Logone and Chari division and of the Far North hard hit by insecurity.
