Family-sized condos emerge on Toronto waterfront

Aquabella condos, the third phase in Tridel’s Bayside development, features twice as many larger units than one-bedrooms. Now it is feeding the growing demand for family-sized condos in one of Toronto’s new waterfront neighbourhoods. The average price for a re-sale detached home in Toronto last month was actually higher, at about $1.3 million, according to the Toronto Real Estate Board. The 5.2-hectare site will also feature retail, office and public space and is being built in close consultation with Waterfront Toronto, the agency funded by all three levels of government, to oversee the city’s lakeside renewal. Amanda Santo, Waterfront Toronto’s director of development approvals, says there is a trend of people moving back downtown.
