Domonique Yatsko, 9, went on an organized youth hunt last year and harvested her first deer – an eight-point buck. “She was very proud when she took her first deer,” the mother said to the Medina Gazette. “The principal’s quote to me was ‘we don’t have dead animals in school,’” Yatsko said, according to Outdoornews. “So, I asked her what they serve in the cafeteria?”The state’s Division of Wildlife organized the youth hunting season. “We don’t have many natural predators that control the deer population anymore.”“The deer would continue to grow, grow, grow beyond what society would tolerate," he said.
