By Patrick O'SullivanBetween gurgles from his baby, born on Christmas Day, Brett Sudfelt says his family is "overwhelmed" with help after fire flattened their Maraekakaho home on Monday morning. They said the family of four were lucky to escape the house before it was consumed by fire, fanned by very strong wind. Mr Sudfelt said they were living "day by day until we find somewhere to stay", living in his parents' spare room in Havelock North. Unlike the Sudfelt family he was uninsured. "We have got to try and help him out with the cover we had, which isn't enough to cover everything we lost," Mr Sudfelt said.
