The family of a woman shot and killed by Auburn, Alabama, police is suing the city and two officers. The Opelika-Auburn News ( http://bit.ly/2aCeal6 ) reports Melissa Boarts' family filed the lawsuit Tuesday against the city of Auburn and police officers Michael Creighton and Daniel Humphries. The family's attorney Julian McPhillips says the lawsuit was filed after family members made numerous requests for the release of documents and footage related to the shooting. City officials and Auburn police have declined comment on the pending litigation. She told authorities the woman may cut her wrists with a knife.
