The anti-stall system designed specifically for the Max 8 has come under increased scrutiny after the Ethiopian Airlines plane destined for Nairobi nosedived just six minutes after takeoff from an airport in Addis Ababa. It was the second crash involving the Boeing model in less than five months’ time — a new Lion Air Max 8 in October went down just 12 minutes after taking off from an airport in Jakarta, Indonesia, killing all 189 on board.
