His death came as a huge shock to his family, who are now trying to raise money to pay for his funeral and a memorial service. His former wife, Joanne Cook, with whom he shared daughter Courtney Dunnett (19), said the Dunedin engineer loved motorbikes his entire life. He’s got lots of friends.’’Police were investigating the cause of the crash, and Miss Cook said the family had been told it could be months before they got answers. Miss Dunnett said her father was ‘‘loved by heaps of people and missed by heaps as well’’.
