Fire crews responded to reports of the fire on Charmers Ave in Ashburton at 6.20am on Sunday. A Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesman said the back of the house was “well involved” in fire when crews arrived. No-one was injured, but there was significant damage to the house, he said.
